Invitation to Submit

APDW 2026 Manila invites submissions of original research for oral free paper, poster, and endoscopic video case presentations. The congress covers gastroenterology, hepatology, digestive endoscopy, and digestive surgery. All accepted abstracts will be published as a supplement to the Journal of Gastroenterology and Hepatology (JGH), providing your research with international visibility across the Asia-Pacific region and beyond.


Submission of an abstract constitutes the author's consent for publication of the abstract in the congress programme and the JGH supplement. Please ensure the correctness of your abstract as it will be published as submitted.

Submission Tracks

Oral Presentation

Original research selected for oral presentation in a scientific session. 10-minute presentation followed by 5-minute Q&A. The top-scoring abstracts submitted for free paper will qualify for oral presentation. All others will be considered for poster presentation.

Poster Presentation

Original research displayed in the dedicated Poster Area throughout the congress. Official poster-viewing hours are held during coffee breaks each day. Selected posters may qualify for the APDWF Posters of Distinction Award.

Endoscopic Video Case

Video submissions showcasing endoscopic techniques or clinical challenges. Selected videos will be given 3 minutes to present their video followed by a 2-minute panel discussion at the Asia Cup of Endoscopy Session.

Submission Guidelines

Rules for Submission
  1. All abstracts must be submitted through the APDW 2026 Abstract Submission Portal (opens 15 March 2026). Hardcopy and faxed abstracts will not be accepted.
  2. Abstracts must be written in English only.
  3. The abstract body must not exceed 250 words, excluding the title and author details.
  4. Abstracts must follow the structured format: Background/Objective / Methods / Results / Conclusion.
  5. Tables and figures are not permitted within the abstract body.
  6. Abstracts must contain original material that has not been published or presented at another international meeting at the time of submission. Abstracts presented at local or national meetings may be considered.
  7. Authors may indicate their preferred presentation format (oral or poster). The Scientific Committee reserves the right to assign presentation type based on scientific content and programme requirements.
  8. All presenting authors must be registered for the congress at the time of presentation.
  9. Submission of an abstract constitutes consent for publication in the JGH supplement and the official congress programme.
Submission and Notification
  1. All submitted abstracts will be acknowledged by email within 3 working days of receipt. Contact info@apdw2026manila.com if you do not receive your acknowledgement.
  2. All abstracts undergo a rigorous double-blind peer review process. Author identities are concealed from reviewers and reviewer identities are concealed from authors.
  3. Abstracts are evaluated on: Novelty/Advancement, Research Methodology, Quality, State of Completion, and Clinical/Scientific Importance.
  4. The decisions of the Scientific Committee are final.
  5. The Organising Committee reserves the right to make changes to all oral and poster presentation schedules.
  6. Presenting authors will receive email notification of acceptance or rejection in August 2026.

Endoscopic Video Case Submission

APDW 2026 Manila welcomes video submissions showcasing endoscopic techniques or clinical challenges of educational value to the Asia-Pacific GI community.

Submission Guidelines
  1. Subject matter must be endoscopic in nature and either pose a clinical challenge or demonstrate an intriguing technique.
  2. Videos must be no more than 3 minutes in length.
  3. An audio narrative track may be included for review purposes but will not form part of the live presentation.
  4. A maximum of 4 videos will be selected for the Video Case Presentation Forum.
  5. If selected, you must be present to narrate your video live. A 2-minute panel discussion will follow each presentation.
  6. An award will be presented to the top video.
How to Submit
  1. Complete the Online Video Submission Intent Form
  2. Upon receipt, the Secretariat will provide instructions for uploading your video file.
  3. Submission deadline: 31 May 2026
  4. All video submitters must also be registered delegates of APDW 2026 Manila.

Double-Blind Peer Review

All submitted abstracts undergo a rigorous double-blind peer review process. Author identities are concealed from reviewers, and reviewer identities are concealed from authors. Abstracts are assessed on scientific merit, research methodology, originality, state of completion, and clinical or scientific importance.

Publication in JGH

All accepted abstracts will be published as a supplement to the Journal of Gastroenterology and Hepatology (JGH), providing your research with international visibility beyond the congress. Publication is conditional on the presenting author completing congress registration.
