Invitation to Submit
APDW 2026 Manila invites submissions of original research for oral free paper, poster, and endoscopic video case presentations. The congress covers gastroenterology, hepatology, digestive endoscopy, and digestive surgery.
All accepted abstracts will be published as a supplement to the Journal of Gastroenterology and Hepatology (JGH) β one of the region's leading peer-reviewed journals β providing your research with international visibility across the Asia-Pacific and beyond.
Submission of an abstract constitutes the author's consent for publication of the abstract in the congress programme and the JGH supplement. Please ensure the correctness of your abstract as it will be published as submitted.

Oral Presentation
Original research selected for oral presentation in a scientific session. The top-scoring abstracts submitted for free paper will qualify for oral presentation. All others will be considered for poster presentation.
Format: 10-minute presentation + 5-minute Q&A

Poster Presentation
Original research displayed in the dedicated Poster Area throughout the congress. Official poster-viewing hours are held during coffee breaks each day. Selected posters may qualify for the moderated poster session.
Format: Poster display with dedicated viewing hours

Endoscopic Video Case
Video submissions showcasing endoscopic techniques or clinical challenges of educational value. Shortlisted videos will be presented live at the APDW Endoscopy Cup session.
Format: 5-minute video presentation + 2-minute panel discussion

Follow these requirements carefully when preparing your abstract for submission.

Rules for Submission

All abstracts must be submitted through the APDW 2026 Abstract Submission Portal (opens 15 March 2026). Hardcopy and faxed abstracts will not be accepted.

Abstracts must be written in English only.

The abstract body must not exceed 250 words, excluding the title and author details.

Abstracts must follow the structured format: Background / Objective, Methods, Results, Conclusion.

Tables and figures are not permitted within the abstract body.

A maximum of 10 authors per abstract.

Authors may indicate their preferred presentation format (oral or poster). The Scientific Committee reserves the right to assign presentation type based on scientific content and programme requirements.

Abstracts must contain original material that has neither been published nor presented at another international meeting at the time of submission. Abstracts submitted to or presented at local and national meetings may be considered. If applicable, the abstract should state: "This research has been approved by an ethical committee."

All presenting authors must be registered for the congress at the time of presentation. Registration is not required at the point of submission, but must be completed before the congress to present your abstract and for accepted abstracts to be published in the JGH supplement.

Submission of an abstract constitutes consent for publication in the JGH supplement and the official congress programme.

Review & Notification

All submitted abstracts undergo a rigorous double-blind peer review process. Author identities are concealed from reviewers and reviewer identities are concealed from authors.

Abstracts are evaluated on: Novelty / Advancement, Research Methodology, Quality, State of Completion, and Clinical / Scientific Importance.

The decisions of the Scientific Committee are final. Presenting authors will receive email notification of acceptance or rejection in August 2026.

All submitted abstracts will be acknowledged by email within 3 working days of receipt. Contact info@apdw2026manila.com if you do not receive your acknowledgement.

5-Point Assessment
Scored on novelty, methodology, quality, completeness, and clinical importance.

Published in JGH
Accepted abstracts published in the JGH supplement for international visibility.

Publication in the Journal of Gastroenterology and Hepatology
All accepted abstracts will be published as a supplement to JGH β one of the region's leading peer-reviewed journals in digestive medicine. Publication is conditional on the presenting author completing congress registration. This provides your research with international visibility beyond the congress itself.
π Awards & Grants for Researchers
Submitting an abstract to APDW 2026 makes you eligible for prestigious awards and travel grants. Outstanding oral presentations are considered for the APDWF/JGHF Young Investigator Award, while exceptional posters may qualify for the Posters of Distinction Award. Up to 70 Travel Grants are available for early-career clinicians and scientists from Asia-Pacific countries.
